In a groundbreaking achievement, IGH successfully sequenced the entire human genome for the first time on Nigerian soil—marking a major leap in African genomics.. This achievement is also the first human genome sequence in Africa using Illumina’s cutting-edge NovaSeq X Plus technology. With this advancement, IGH is leading the charge in unlocking Africa’s rich genetic diversity, paving the way for groundbreaking discoveries in precision medicine, disease prevention, and personalized healthcare.
